Cultus Lake Park landfill site is permanently closed

Cultus Lake Park Landfill Site is permanently closed to the disposal of all materials.

Dumping organics and other material, within Cultus Lake Park is also prohibited. This includes alleys, green spaces and along the tree line east of Sunnyside Blvd.

Alternate disposal sites include:

·     Kel Mor, located at 45895 Promontory Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 5Z5, for green waste disposal;

·     Bailey Sanitary Landfill, located at 5940 Matheson Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 4S8, for green waste, organics,            recycling and refuse;

·     Parr Road Green Depot operated by Biocentral, located at 45175 Parr Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 3Z8 for green          waste disposal.

Cultus Lake Infill Lot Survey

At the October 18, 2017 Regular Board Meeting the Cultus Lake Park Board received the results of the Infill Lot Survey for information.  The report will be put on the November 15, 2017 Agenda for the Board to provide direction to staff on next steps.  Click here to view the report.

2017 Penticton Dragon Boat Festival

2017 Penticton Dragon Boat Festival

The Cultus Lake Dragonflyers brought home a gold medal over the weekend.
All the women's Dragon Boat team practiced 3 X a week on Cultus Lake starting April to Sept. They beat out other teams to win Gold on September 9th @ Skaha Lake in Penticton. Their Captain for the event was Anneke Van Leeuwen. 

 

 

 

FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE PARKING REPORT

Please note that no decisions have been made by the Cultus Lake Park Board at this time on the Parking Report.  The Board had requested that the report be released to the public so that the public could provide their comments on the recommendations made in the report prior to any decisions being made or future steps taken.

The Board has requested that more time be provided to the residents in order for more comments to be received and therefore has extended the date to receive public comments until Friday September 29, 2017.  Staff anticipate that a staff report on Parking will be presented at the September 13 and October 18, 2017 Board Meetings.

Light Up the Trail for Canada 150!

WHAT:  Special Event / Light Up the Trail for Canada 150!

WHERE: Cultus Lake Park

WHEN: August 26, 2017 / 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

EVENT DETAILS: Cultus Lake Park is hosting a Light up the Trail event in conjunction with a nationwide Trans Canada Trail Canada 150 celebration. On August 26, along with Trans Canada Trail groups and municipalities across Canada, our event will be part of a giant simultaneous celebration captured on a multimedia platform and published online. The event is generously sponsored by Canada 150 and Cultus Lake Waterpark and Cultus Lake Adventure Park.

 

Light Up the Great Trail for Canada 150! Cultus Lake Park:

This will be a FREE family event with food, entertainment and giveaways. At dusk attendees of all ages will walk or bike the Main Beach waterfront path carrying glowing lights. There will be glow stick give-aways to ensure everyone has a light to shine.  And the grand finale will feature a Canada 150 fireworks display! Photos and videos of this magical evening will provide a spectacular finale to the Celebrate the Great Trail cross Canada event website.

We will be decorating parts of the path and we encourage residents to dust off those Christmas lights and decorate in patriotic red and white - join the fun and let your Canada 150 lights shine!
