Bylaw Fines Have Increased
We know that many people may find bylaws (and more specifically, bylaw enforcement) frustrating. No one wants to receive a fine, but sometimes they are a necessity.
Cultus Lake Park fines for bylaw infractions have increased. They are now up to $2,000 per infraction.
Bylaws are in place for the control, management, maintenance, use and enjoyment of Cultus Lake Park by all. They support the safety and security of residents and visitors.
It may come as a surprise, but the Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Officers don’t want to fine you. In fact, they want you to comply with the bylaws. It’s even in their title. They are trained to help educate the community about the bylaws.
Whether it is keeping your dog on a leash, not smoking, refraining from consuming alcohol in public areas, or keeping laneways adjacent to residential or business lots clear and maintained – bylaws are in place for the good of the community.
If you have questions about bylaws or would just like to come by for a cup of coffee and a chat, Cultus Lake Park has an open door policy. We would love to see you. If you would prefer to email us, that works too. Our email is: [email protected].
Please adhere to the bylaws – you can find them here. We will also be putting up a series of posters that highlight bylaws that are broken more often than others – and we’ll be sharing a few blog posts on them here.
Adhering to bylaws is the responsibility of everyone in the community.
