Statement from Cultus Lake Park re: April 15, 2020 Board Meeting

The Cultus Lake Park Board meeting is set to be held on April 15, 2020. The regular meeting (open meeting) is tentatively set, at this time, for 3 p.m. This may change as a result of the unfolding COVID-19 situation and direction from provincial or federal governments or health authorities. Should a change to the date of the Board meeting be required, we will inform the community as soon possible.

While having members of the community at our Board meetings is preferable, in order to minimize health and safety risks in response to COVID-19, the regular meeting will be closed to the public.

As a result of the current pandemic, the Government of B.C. has instituted a State of Emergency, and closing a usually public Board meeting such as this is permitted by the Order of the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General through the Emergency Program Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c.111, s.10 Ministerial Order No. M083. You can download a copy of the order here.

Staff will attend the meeting in person in the boardroom and will practice social distancing as directed by federal and provincial health authorities.

In continuing with our commitment to regular and transparent communication with the Cultus Lake Park community, a video of the regular Board meeting will be available on the Cultus Lake Park website on April 16, 2020.

We will continue to provide updates to you regarding COVID-19 and Cultus Lake Park as information becomes available. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement towards Park staff and the Board during this difficult time.

Engaging in social distancing will help to flatten the curve and to stop this dangerous virus from spreading. Cultus Lake Park is a special community, and one that shows this even more during challenging times. Thank you for taking care of each other. We are all in this together.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Park Office at: 604-858-3334 or email: [email protected].
