BC Hydro Street Light Replacement Project

At the beginning of November 2021, BC Hydro will begin the Street Light Replacement Project throughout the Cultus Lake Park community. The current high-pressure sodium (HPS) street lights within the community will be replaced with energy-efficient Light Emitting Diode’s (LED) in order to meet federal regulations.

The switch to LED street lights will help improve public safety by increasing visibility of sidewalks and roads at night with the warm whiter and more natural light. The bulbs use far less energy, are more reliable, last longer and are more sustainable.

The installation of the LED street lights is expected to be complete by mid-December with minimal impact on the local residents and businesses. BC Hydro does not expect to have to conduct a planned outage during this process, and do not expect access to roadways to be disrupted while crews are working.
