Emergency Preparedness Week

Emergency Preparedness Week is a national event created to encourage Canadians to take action to ensure our communities are ready in the case of an emergency.

This year’s theme is fitting for many British Columbians, as we focus on Emergency Preparedness: Be Ready for Anything. In the wake of the 2021 November flooding events, residents within our region understand the importance of ensuring emergency kits are well stocked and a clear plan is in place.

In an emergency, the Fraser Valley Regional District will activate the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to support the community and coordinate first responders. The EOC gathers information from responders on-site to share with the public. Cultus Lake Park posts emergency information on our website at www.cultuslake.bc.ca, RSS feed and on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CultusLakePark. In the case of an evacuation, the Cultus Lake Volunteer Fire Department will go door-to-door to make sure everyone is informed.
