Residential Garbage, Recycling and Organic Green Waste Reminder

Cultus Lake Park wishes to remind residential leaseholders to utilize the secured totes provided for recycling and organics green waste.

Please ensure that all cardboard is broken down prior to placing inside the bin for easier collection. Residents are able to place a maximum of two secured garbage containers that should not exceed 120L each per leased lot. We are asking residents to please adhere to these quantities, as bags of refuse will not be accepted for pick-up.

Please only set out your totes/containers between 12:00 pm the day prior to pick up and 8:00 am only on the designated day of collection and must be returned to the leased lot the day of collection.

As per the Cultus Lake Park Property Maintenance Bylaw No. 1149, 2019 section 3.6 which states:

All leaseholders, tenants or occupiers of a leased lot must ensure that any and all garbage, recycling, greens waste bins and any structures to contain such receptacles must be kept entirely on the leased lot.

As per the Cultus Lake Park Property Maintenance Bylaw No. 1149, 2019 section 3.9 which states:

All leaseholders, tenants or occupiers of a leased lot must ensure that any and all garbage, recycling, greens waste bins, pet food, composts, and barbeques are stored in such a manner as to avoid attracting wild and domestic animals.

For the discard of excess waste from your property, we encourage you to utilize the nearest landfills:

Bailey Sanitary Landfill at 5940 Matheson Road in Chilliwack.

Parr Road Green Depot 45175 Parr Road in Chilliwack.

We have included the link below for the Garbage, Recycling and Organics Green Waste pick-up schedule.

Main Beach Docks Repair Fundraiser

MainBeachDocks8x11-2 FINAL

Cultus Lake Foreshore Fundraising and Improvement Committee, are making Lower Mainland families aware that Cultus Lake Park, at the North end of the Lake, being Governed by the Cultus Lake Park Act,  receives no outside funding from Municipal, Regional, Provincial or Federal governments.

The docks are 70+ years old and this past winter, the storms made it necessary, to remove two large sections of the Main Beach docks.  We are aiming to remove the old creosote pilings, creosote support joists and replace them with the best engineered system available.

There are plans for Newspaper, Main Beach signage and website recognition for those contributing. We have prepared a scale of Sponsorship levels for you to choose from:

Bronze level would be $1000+
Silver would be $5,000+
Gold $10,000+
Platinum $25,000+
Diamond $50,000+

We also have a unique “Buy a Plank” program for $500.

The Cultus Lake Park Board can issue Tax receipts for donors, they can also process Credit and Debit cards. Cheques should be payable to – “Cultus Lake Park Board – Main Beach Docks Project”. Or visit the link below to make your donation online:
Main Beach Docks Project – Cultus Lake Park

With the goal of raising $2.0M, we will seek to partner with the Department of Fisheries and Transport Canada to obtain the required Permits. We are hopeful that work could begin in the spring of 2022 to remove the old docks and install the new.

We appreciate all of your support!
