The 2019 Summer Farmers’ Market at Cultus Lake Park has a new location. It will be held at the Community Barn in the Cultus Lake Park Plaza (beside Frosty’s). This popular weekly event runs each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from June 29 to August 31, 2019.
The Summer Farmers’ Market offers visitors a range of locally sourced items to choose from – including fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, craft beer, small batch whiskey and vodka, meats, cheeses, herbs, flowers, handmade soaps, essential oils, jewellery and much more. Each week will bring some regular (and favourite) vendors – and a few new ones to try! Live music at the market makes the experience even better. (Dancing is encouraged!)
Said Joe Lamb, Cultus Lake Park Board Chair: “The new location for the Summer Farmers’ Market makes it easier to check it out and to pick up some items for a picnic on the beach or for dinner. The Plaza offers free parking for up to two hours – just enter your license plate into the meter.” He added: “Each week, the market is a bit different which encourages people to come often. The market is yet another reason that Cultus Lake Park is such a popular place for both locals and visitors.”

Kevin Plastow Design & Digital Imaging is a graphic design and photography studio located in the Fraser Valley community of Chilliwack, B.C. They have provided an exceptional prize for the Cultus Lake Day draw – a 30-minute photo shoot at Cultus Lake Park. Who doesn’t want professional photos of their family or a group of friends? Or maybe you are getting ready to propose and Kevin could be there – ready to capture that magical moment!
The team at Kevin Plastow Design & Digital Imaging has over 30 years of experience producing award-winning print advertising, posters, brochures and corporate identities – with a flair for clean and simple design. They also offer photographic services specializing in event photography – and for this active and engaged team, no event is too big or too small! They cover everything from international airshows to car shows to business grand openings and even family reunions.
Kevin told us that Cultus Lake Day offers him and his team the chance to be involved in a local event with community volunteers for whom they have a huge amount of respect. He said: “The community volunteers who plan this event contribute countless selfless hours to make it great – and that is growing in popularity every year. And the volunteers who come out to help on Cultus Lake Day show just how big the heart of the community is.” He added: “And how great is it that we can all go for free to what could be described as one big block party – with a focus on family fun? It’s a pretty great event, made even better because of the amazing volunteers who make it happen.”
Kevin and his team are highly involved in the community. They have sponsored Cultus
Lake events, as well as the Chilliwack Business Improvement Association and Chamber of Commerce’s Party in the Park, Fortin’s Village Classic Car Show, and the Chilliwack Flight Fest Airshow. He explains that: “It is important to us to sponsor events in our home community, and it’s been a pleasure to get to know some of the hardworking people here.”
In speaking with Kevin, we also discovered something that many people might not know – Kevin Plastow Design & Digital Imaging also does original fine art by commission. That is good to know!
Kevin says he looks forward to Cultus Lake Day because: “Being a photographer, just wandering around enjoying the sights and capturing the fun, is a highlight for me.” He added: “Of course, sampling what the food trucks offer is a must!”
