Cultus Lake Park is comprised of two (2) overlapping jurisdictions, where both Cultus Lake Park (CLP) and the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) are responsible for planning and building within the park. The permit process for any construction at the park requires review by both CLP and FVRD.
The Building and Demolition permit and review process ensures that all buildings and related construction activities comply with the safety, health and building requirements of the local government, Province of British Columbia, and associated regulatory bodies.
Before submitting a building permit application, you will need to contact the park office to initiate the process at [email protected]. CLP will complete the initial application review prior to FVRD beginning their process. Demolition permits, building permits, and building inspections are provided separately by the FVRD. All FVRD related information can be found on the FVRD website.
Applicants will receive an electronic information package from staff which will include the following required documents to be submitted:
Cultus Lake Park “Building, Planning, and Demolition” Application Form.
Current legal title with confirmation of owners on title and any existing land tenure items. Please contact the CLP Leasing Clerk at [email protected].
Current legal survey for the leased lot, which shall be completed within the last 10 years.
Separate pre-construction survey of the property showing all existing conditions including existing trees and structural details for the project review (if not included in the legal survey above only).
Any initial drawings showing the proposed construction for review.
Please note that all above required documents should be sent to staff in one complete package. Following staff’s receipt of all required documents, the initial review will begin.
Once staff’s review of the full application package is complete, a follow-up letter will be sent to both the applicant and FVRD outlining CLP’s requirements for building and development. This will include related CLP bylaw information which can be viewed on the website at https://www.cultuslake.bc.ca/bylaws/.
