HOSTING AN EVENT AT CULTUS LAKE PARK
Cultus Lake Park is a great place to host a wedding, family reunion, work gathering, race, walk, fundraiser or any other event. There are several areas to hold an event – in the park or at the beach. While you don’t need an Event Permit for a small family picnic or group of friends meeting up at Cultus Lake Park, other organized events require that you apply for an Event Permit.
An Event Permit is required for an organized event, public or private, including but not limited to, parades, races, walks, performances, concerts, festivals, group celebrations, receptions, weddings, and filming projects, held on a public area, within the boundaries of Cultus Lake Park, including the Foreshore. An Event Permit is also required for a block party event, commercial lease lot event, community event, or residential lease lot event.
It is important that the Event Application is filled out accurately and submitted at least 90 days prior to your event. Missing this deadline will mean that an Event Permit may not be issued and that your event may not be held at Cultus Lake Park.
Event Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. If you apply and another event has requested and is approved for that date, your application for that date may be denied.
Please read the Event Bylaw closely, as it outlines the requirements necessary to hold an Event in Cultus Lake Park.
Smaller groups may rent a gazebo and relax in comfort at the beach!

Event Application
An Event Application is required at least 90 days prior to your event. Once you fill out the application and submit it to Cultus Lake Park office, the Event Coordinator will contact you to ensure the application has been filled out properly and to get clarification on any aspects that require it.
Your application should include details such as a site plan, the amount of people you are bringing to the park, first aid details, etc. If your event will have a food vendor or a beverage garden, you will need to gain Cultus Lake Park Board approval. The Event Coordinator will assist you with this process.
For applicants requesting parking fees to be waived, please review the Parking Fee Waiver Policy. The purpose of this policy is to provide direction for staff, applicants and permittees regarding parking fee waiver requests in public paid parking lots, Highways and the Foreshore within Cultus Lake Park.
Cultus Lake Park staff are tasked with caring for and maintaining the Park – from the foreshore to the trees – and that is something we take very seriously. Ensuring that Park Administration is fully aware of all of the elements of your event helps to keep everyone safe and happy.
If you have any questions, please contact the Administrative Assistant, Communications & Events Coordinator at [email protected] or 604.769.8124.
