SPECIAL EVENTS

Cultus Lake Park is a great place to host a wedding, family reunion, work gathering, race, walk, fundraiser or any other special event. There are several areas to hold an event – in the park or at the beach. While you don’t need a Special Events Permit for a small family picnic or group of friends meeting up at Cultus Lake Park, larger events (50 people or more) require that you apply for a Special Event Permit.

Smaller groups can rent a gazebo and relax in comfort! Gazebo Rental Agreement.

Other groups may be interested in renting our Community Hall.

Special Event Criteria

Events of 50 or more participants/spectators/guests (wedding, organized gathering, etc.) require a Special Event Permit. The Cultus Lake Park Administration Office issues this permit.

It is important that the Special Event Application is filled out accurately and submitted at least 30 days prior to your event. Missing this deadline will mean that a Special Event Permit cannot be issued and that your event cannot be held at Cultus Lake Park.

Special Event Permits are issued on a first come, first served basis. If you have a Special Event for a specific date, we encourage you to submit your application well before the 30-day deadline. If you apply and another event has requested and been approved for that date, your application for that date may be denied.

Please read the Special Event Application closely. It outlines the requirements necessary to hold a Special Event in Cultus Lake Park.

Special Event Application

A Special Event Application is required at least 30 days prior to your event. Once you fill out the application, the Special Events coordinator will contact you to ensure that the application has been filled out properly and to get clarification for any aspects that require it.

Your application must include details including a site plan, the amount of people you are bringing to the park, a garbage clean-up plan, first aid details and additional information.

If you have a special request for your event application, it may need to be put in front of the Cultus Lake Board for review.

Cultus Lake Park staff are tasked with caring for and maintaining the park – from the foreshore to the trees – and that is something we take very seriously. Ensuring that Park Administration is fully aware of all of the elements of your event helps to keep everyone safe and happy.

Please fill out the Special Event Application that can be found at this link: Special Event Application and submit it to Cultus Lake Park Administration. Please remember, this application has to be submitted at least 30 days prior to your event.

If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Warmerdam, Administrative Assistant, Communications & Events Coordinator at [email protected] or 604-769-8124.
