WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE? 

You are allowed to vote if you are registered as:
 ·      a resident elector (i.e., you live in Cultus Lake Park, or
·      a non-resident property elector (i.e., you live elsewhere in BC but lease property in Cultus Lake Park.         

ELECTOR QUALIFICATIONS: 

RESIDENT ELECTORS: 

·      18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
·      a Canadian citizen; and
·      a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
·      a resident of the Cultus Lake Park for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
·      not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law. 

NON-RESIDENT PROPERTY ELECTORS: 

·      18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
·      a Canadian citizen; and
·      a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
·      a registered leaseholder of real property in Cultus Lake Park for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
·      not entitled to register as a resident elector; and
·         not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law;
·         if there is more than one registered leaseholder on the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent (form below) of the majority of the leaseholders, register as a non-resident property elector ; and
·         property leased by a corporation or other trust would not qualify to receive a ballot.

MAIL BALLOT VOTING
         
Before 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, you must submit the following information to Cultus Lake Park Administration office (by mail, telephone, fax or email to reception@cultuslake.bc.ca): 
(1)    Full name,
(2)    Residential address,
(3)    Address of the property in relation to which you are voting (for non-resident property electors),
(4)    Method of delivery of your mail ballot package:               
(a)  pick up at Cultus Lake Park Administration office, or               
(b)  regular letter mail through Canada Post to residential address, or               
(c)   regular letter mail through Canada Post to an alternate address that you provide when requesting the ballot package,

(5)    To ensure you receive the correct registration application form in your package, you must indicate whether you are going to be registering as a resident or non-resident property elector.         

Cultus Lake Park will send out mail ballot packages commencing on or about September 28, 2026.

To be counted for the election, your mail ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. on October 17, 2026.
